Storing Your Models

It is many collectors dream to have a shelves full of their model horses, but unfortunately there are many factors that can prevent his from becoming reality. One thing that can stop many collectors from showing off their models is dust allergies. Shelves full of horses can collect lots of dust particles, which, when the models are moved, can be spread into the air and cause irritation. Another cause that can stop the display of models is lack of space. Models cannot be shoulder to shoulder without something in between them to prevent scratching of the paint and ruining the models finishes. The horses need some space in between them, which causes them to take up a large amount of area.

So what do you do with your models that can't be displayed on your walls? You put them in storage! Simply wrapping your models and packing them into a cardboard box can save you space and your models paint. Here is the easiest way to keep your models in tip top shape through packing:

1: Find tissue paper to wrap the horses. (can be found at wal-mart with the gift wrappings)
2: lay horses on one of the corners of the paper.

3:Wrap the horse by flipping it it's side towards to opposite corner.
4:Fold in the excess paper to one side of the horse.

5: Put your wrapped horse into a cardboard box or plastic container.
6: Wrap your remaining models and pack into box tightly.
7: Fill any extra space with packing peanuts, newspaper, or left over tissue paper. (I wouldn't use the tissue paper because you could save it for other models you would like to store later.

Finally you can have space for all of those new models on your shelf. Just move some to the storing box and keep them dust free and scratch free for the best show ring results ever.
